June Favourites & Highlights
Guys, we're officially 6 months until Christmas time!!! I swear every time I get around to writing these monthly posts, it's like I can't keep up with how time is moving so fast!
This month is a special June Favourites & Highlights because I share some products that I really have been loving and a special book that teaches us how to rise from the bottom of a pit!
Let's start with our beauty favourites!
June Beauty Favourites
Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette
This is seriously the best eyeshadow palette that I've bought that hasn't disappointed me use after use. Right from the first time I got to play with it, the shadows were extremely blendable and buttery. Nothing was too hard to blend or too hard to pat on the lid, it was perfect!
With the colour selection, I really love the mattes and I particularly love the shimmers. You can really do a lot day and night looks with this palette.
I have recently done a tutorial on a brown smokey eye using this palette so check it out on my IGTV channel if you haven't already!
Hourglass Cosmetics Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
I was in the market for a medium to full coverage foundation for special occasions, going out or just something that wasn't so sheer like the CC creams I've been wearing.
I always knew that the Hourglass Cosmetics Vanish Foundation Stick was a big favourite for a lot of influencers and YouTubers so I thought I'd give it ago.
My first thoughts were that I was surprised it had a natural finish to the skin. It wasn't cakey at all!
When I set the foundation with powder and finished it off with setting spray it had a really nice finish as well. It's almost like it melted into my skin.
Coverage is great, it really covers up redness or discolouration I have with my skin.
Dior Lip Glow in 01 Pink
A cult beauty product that is loved by natural makeup lovers for years! I was first introduced to this product in a Dior masterclass in 2014 and I loved how it was a balm that would change to a pink hue suited to your natural lips.
It's definitely a "my lips but better" kinda product you can use for those no-makeup days.
You can also get it other shades and matte finishes.
Lanolips 101 Ointment
I've definitely mentioned this product before on my blog! This is a great product to have because it's multi-purpose. I like to use it for:
- Dry lips
- Dry patches
- A natural glow on my cheekbones (for those really bare days)
There are so many other different uses that you can do with this product! It's quite nourishing and really helps repair any dry skin. Especially because we're in the middle of winter and it happens to be super cold this year. My skin is really suffering badly because of the wind and cold conditions.
June Book Favourites
The Rules Don't Apply by Ariel Levy
I never heard of Ariel Levy before until I found this book. It's a beautiful memoir about love and loss in different forms and parts of life. I've honestly never read anything so raw and honest before.
I've experienced loss in my life through various relationships, death and things that are just too personal to share here. But what I loved about the book was Ariel rising out all the hardships she faced and being completely honest about how shit it was.
Obviously, the best part is her overcoming all the hard stages and really being ok about it all.
Basically, without giving too much away she had everything she ever wanted and lost it all in one month.
Let me know if you read the memoir, it's such a great story about overcoming adversity.
