Splurge vs Save: L'oreal True Match & NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
In this month's Splurge vs Save post we are comparing two similar foundations. I believe they have similar characteristics & are similar in the finish they have on your skin.
Our drugstore product is the L'Oreal True Match Foundation, a foundation that is quite popular amongst the drugstore market. The high-end foundation that I will be comparing the L'oreal foundation to is the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation which is a long time favourite of mine!
Both products are liquid form and are best suited to normal to dry skin.
L'Oreal True Match Foundation
A 30ML bottle that comes with a pump. The pump makes it more hygienic to use and easier to dispense the product.
Priceline sells 14 shades of the product which means you are more likely to get a suitable colour match through the drugstore market compared to other drugstore foundations.
If you raise your L'oreal True Match Foundation to the light you can see light gold specks which is what makes the product give you that glowing dewy finish.
It's super blendable and very smooth on the skin when applied to the skin.
At Priceline, you can purchase the L'oreal True Match Foundation for $29.95. In my opinion, this is quite an affordable foundation especially for the quality it gives you.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
The NARS Sheer Glow Foundation comes in a 30ML short square foundation bottle, where is the L'Oreal True Match is a long rectangular bottle. Unfortunately, the bottle doesn't come with a pump but you can buy this separately. However, if you buy the pump, you won't be able to put the screw top lid back on with the pump.
The foundation comes in 19 different shades that you can purchase at Mecca. NARS provides more variety in colour choice which is fantastic! Normally brands will come out with a very limited foundation colour range.
The foundation is super easy to blend with and the finish is dewy, not matte.
The foundation costs $68AUD which can be purchased at any Mecca store. For the price, it is a little expensive but the quality is very much worth the money! In fact, I love this foundation so much, I have it in two different shades for winter and summer!
Who comes on top?
I love my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation because it gives you a beautiful natural dewy look where is the L'Oreal gives you a glow but the finish is a little glittery.
Even though the NARS foundation is hefty in price I do recommend this for anyone who is looking for a natural dewy finish to the skin. However, the L'Oreal is a great drugstore buy if you don't mind the slight glittery finish.
Which is your favourite choice? Have you tried any of these foundations?
