Winter Skincare Routine 2015

skincarewinter Its crucial for me to have a strict skincare routine. My skin type is dry and its quite dehydrated in the colder months. I tend to flake more and I will also get more redness in some areas more than others.

Here are the rules I follow in winter

  • opt for moisturisers dedicated to hydration and dry skin
  • exfoliate 2-3 times a week
  • ALWAYS USE EYE CREAM twice a day
  • cleansing oil is  must

I'm also in the market for a really food facial oil, last winter I used this every single day and also used it as a makeup primer, and found my makeup didn't dry out so much!

The products I use:

Burts Bees Intense Hydration Day Moisturiser

It's a nice, thick cream to use when your skin is very dry and needs a lot of hydration, All natural ingredients and no animal testing! I've been using this one for about 6 months now and it provides a great deal amount of hydration.

The Body Shop Silky Cleansing Oil

I've used the cleansing balm version of this which is great, but since moving homes my bathroom counter doesn't have a lot of space so this was perfect for my mirror cabinet. This cleansing oil is gentle, it gets all the dirt off and still cleanses your skin throughly. It's great for removing eye makeup too.

Origins Never A Dull Moment Facial Exfoliator

This is a brand new purchase (that I got 3 months ago) and its an affordable, great quality scrub that I use 2-3 times a week. It helps brighten the skin and also get rid of any dead skin cells

Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion

During the warmer months I used this as a serum but now I'm still using it too just to give my skin extra moisture that it deserves. This is just a sample size but you can also get the full size at the Benefit counters.

Origins Ginzing Eye Cream

A more newer purchase, I got this from my local Mecca Maxima store and its been a lovely addition to my skincare routine, I use to use the Benefit Eye Cream but found that one too expensive and this is a more affordable brand that also delivers great results. It also helps brighten your under eye area too.
